Project Description

The Hill Group was selected to install a new HVAC system and revamp the fire protection systems for this two-story, 70,000 square foot former retail store being recycled as a food pilot plant and testing facility.

A 30-ton and an 18-ton custom stainless steel food grade air handling units, serve the pilot plant. They are piped to air cooled condensing units. Two forty-ton and two 70-ton packaged natural gas fired, air cooled, air conditioning units set on new raised structural steel platforms are ducted to the office and testing laboratories. Single and double wall oval ductwork is used throughout. Four high efficiency condensing hot water boilers are installed.

The Hill Group was selected to take the lead in providing coordinated 3D shop drawings. A three dimensional laser scan was performed on each floor to precisely locate structural steel, existing fire protection piping and roof drains.
