The Field Museum

Project Description

The Hill Group installed the complete HVAC system for this new 200,000 square foot storage and research center at the museum. The space is divided into approximately 30,000 square feet of laboratory, 25,000 square feet of offices and 120,000 square feet of artifact/exhibition storage.

The mechanical system includes 16 air handling systems. Every air handler includes: 60% filters, carbon fillers, ultra-violet lights, steam preheat coils, chilled water cooling coils, hot water reheat coils and clean steam injection humidifiers. Each of 16 areas can be controlled between 65º to 75º F and 40% to 60% relative humidity. The DDC control system is connected to the building automation system.
