Project Description
The Hill Group was awarded all the heating, ventilation and air conditioning for this 27-story, 1,200,000 SF replacement hospital. This is the third major new hospital on or near the Northwestern Memorial campus built with elements of this Power Construction team and Hill.
Key elements of the new hospital are the Sky Lobby, Sky Garden and five unique areas of treatment: Innovation Centers with specialized “Ability Labs” focusing on the Brain, Spinal Cord, Neuro-Musculoskeletal, Pediatrics and Cancer.
The project includes three 600 Boiler HP steam boilers, five centrifugal water chillers totaling 4,000 tons, over 1,000,000 CFM from 11 air handling units, complete ductwork and piping distribution systems.
