Navistar

Project Description

The Hill Group was contracted to install the HVAC systems in the new 28,000 S.F. Tractor Trailer Building that is an addition to the existing diesel engine manufacturing plant campus. This testing facility is being built to allow Navistar to test the next generation of commercial trucks and buses, including hybrid and electric vehicles. State-of-the-art emissions controls and the latest in diesel engine technology will be thoroughly factory-tested utilizing new environmental chambers, dynamometers and other specialized truck test equipment.

The mechanical systems includes a nominal 85 ton screw compressor water chiller, two cooling towers, two air handling units, six gas fired make-up air units, 29 radiant heaters, six fan coil units, 42 roof mounted fans and six unit heaters. The building includes chilled water, steam, steam condensate, condenser water and natural gas piping systems. The steam, steam condensate return, and gas piping will be extended from connections in the existing plant.
