Ferrara Pan Candy

Project Description

Hill Mechanical Corp. was awarded the contract to design and build 16 candy drying rooms.

Each room is served by a custom air handling unit containing steam and chilled water coils. Air can be supplied at the floor of the room at 1650 F or 550 F. High pressure steam (125 psi) is taken from the building system and reduced to 12 psi. Two 225 ton and two 250 ton new air cooled chillers are set on a structural steel platform above the roof. Primary and secondary chilled water pumps were utilized.

Hill Architectural Systems designed and installed the rooms and the custom structural support system. Seventy-four thousand square feet of Kingspan 2.75” and 4” foam insulated metal panels were used.

Revit/Autocad virtual 3D modeling and coordination were employed on the project to meet the accelerated schedule.
